The will of God is important in prayers. This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us (1 John 5:14). This, then, is how you should pray: “Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven” (Matthew 6:9-10). Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you (Matthew 7:7).
God never gives us anything to do that He does not give us the strength to do.
When God calls you, he will protect his purpose that he has called you to fulfill. Satan will stop at nothing to allow people in your life to try and interfere with his purpose; however, God will not allow this to happen. He is God, and whatever he ordains to be fulfilled, it will be, as long as you stay in obedience and yield to his will. The Lord assures you that heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away (Matthew 24:35).
The reason some people leave your life is because they would have interfered with his purpose. Although this may be a hurtful experience when they leave, let them go! If they were destined to be a part of your purpose, then they would have no doubt stayed with you. Although you may not see it now; in the end you will realize that they would have interfered with what God wants you to do. Notwithstanding, God will replace the people who have left you with people of purpose who will support the calling that God has placed upon your life.
And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose (Romans 8:28). When God calls you out of the world, do not expect that people are going to love you because you are following God and fulfilling his purpose for your life. The world would love you as one of its own if you belonged to it, but you are no longer part of the world. I chose you to come out of the world, so it hates you (John 15:19).
All things considered, you may not see the hearts of people, because you are looking on the outward appearance; therefore, you do not know that they would have become a hindrance to his purpose. However, the Lord does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart (1 Samuel 16:7). That is why God will let people leave your life, in order to protect his purpose that he has called you to fulfill.
The New Year is finally here. Although some goals may have been achieved in the previous year, others may not. This is another chance to start fresh and discover your new purpose. God has not called the already equipped people. He equips the people He calls. You may be worried about your finances, your health, disfunction in your family life, or you may already have a busy schedule; however, God wants to see your faith (Hebrews 11:1).
If God has given you a vision, it’s now time to act on this vision. More importantly, you should pray, fast and ask the Lord for his directions. Trust in the Lord with all your heart; and lean not unto your own understanding. In all your ways, acknowledge him, and he shall direct your paths (Proverbs 3:5-6). Be that as it may, when God has already sanctioned your walk; all you have to do is to ask him to guide your steps.
Do not let the enemy whispers doubts and lies regarding your ability. The enemy comes to steal, kill and to destroy. However, God came so that you can have life and have it more abundantly (John 10:10). There are going to be critics and naysayers who will stop at nothing to distract you from discovering your new purpose. Quit trying to please these people, as you look forward to your destiny. Life is too short to live it being distracted by others. Each of us has a number at which time we will cease to be on this earth (Job 14:5; Psalm 90:12).
At the end of your journey here on earth, you will not be standing before these people, you will be standing before God. He will determine how well you have spent your time while here on this earth. If it is pleasing to him, then you will hear; well done, good and faithful servant. You have been faithful over a few things; I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your Lord (Matthew 25:23).
Therefore, the Lord himself will give you a sign. Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel, which means God with us (Isaiah 7:14; Matthew 1:23). And you will have joy and gladness, and many will rejoice at his birth (Luke 1:14). And this is the testimony, that God gave us eternal life, and this life is in his Son (1 John 5:11).
Are you going through a stressful situation where you have prayed and asked God to deliver you? It may be a bad financial situation, an ongoing health issue, a bad relationship or marriage, a stressful job, or even a church that you feel that you want to leave, but have to wait on God to release you. Your stressful situation could be any of the above, or others not mentioned here. However, you may wonder if God has all the powers why are you still going through it. Notwithstanding, it is perfectly okay to wonder.
The Apostle Paul spoke of being conceited because of a greatness that was revealed to him in a vision. As a result, a thorn was given to him in the flesh, a messenger of Satan to harass him, to keep him from becoming conceited. He pleaded with the Lord three times for it to leave him. But the Lord said to Paul, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Paul stated that, “Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me. For the sake of Christ, then, I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities. For when I am weak, then I am strong (2 Corinthians 12:7-10).
Consequently, you will have to wait on God’s will and timing to answer your prayers. On the other hand, while you are waiting, you may become frustrated and impatient as you are only human. This is the moment when you should stop and refresh yourself, and say, “God give me grace.” He will give you the grace to endure, until he delivers you.
It is sometimes difficult to give thanks in challenging circumstances. However, life is not without its fair share of trouble (John 16:33). Notwithstanding, when you look at the glass half-full instead of half-empty, you are inclined to give thanks in all circumstances.
“Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you” (1 Thessalonians 5:18, ESV). Therefore, think for a moment, and see what you can still give thanks for in your life, despite any challenges that you may have overcome or may now be experiencing.
The heart is described by National Geographic Science as the body’s most essential organ. It is the body’s engine room responsible for pumping life-sustaining blood throughout the body. Therefore, the scripture advises that, above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it (Proverbs 4:23 NIV).
The heart is sensitive, and that is where the devil will introduce different seeds of evil to take root. These seeds will eventually begin to grow if the heart sustains and nourishes them. The biblical story in Genesis 4 of Cain and Abel depicts an evil seed of jealousy. Both brothers made sacrifices to God; however, God favored Abel’s sacrifice over Cain’s. As a result, Cain became enraged with jealousy. He then murdered his brother, Abel. As a punishment, God condemned Cain to a life of wandering.
The Bible depicts the fruits that will be produced if the heart is guarded with the Words of God, instead of evil. But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness (Galatians 5:22 NIV).
Proverbs 26:4 (NLT) puts it this way, “Don’t answer the foolish arguments of fools, or you will become as foolish as they are.”
The Psalmist defines fools this way, “Only fools say in their hearts, “There is no God.” They are corrupt, and their actions are evil; not one of them does good!” (Psalm 14:1 NLT)
Never argue with foolish people. They will drag you down to their level, and then beat you with experience. Mark Twain
Jesus told his disciples, “I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world” (John 16:33).
True peace comes not from the absence of trouble, but from the presence of God.
