Jesus told his disciples, “I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world” (John 16:33).

True peace comes not from the absence of trouble, but from the presence of God.

Alexander MacLare

Who Is Your Rock?

From the end of the earth I call to you when my heart is faint. Lead me to the rock that is higher than I (Psalm 61:2).

The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still (Exodus 14:14).

Steps To Salvation

These four R’s will guide your steps to salvation.

  1. Realize that you are a sinner. For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God (Rom. 3:10; 23; Rom. 5:12; Eccles. 7:20).
  2. Recognize that Jesus came to this earth, died on the cross for your sins and rose from the dead (Rom. 5:8; Rom.10:9; John 3:16; 1 Pet. 3:18; 1 Cor. 6:14).
  3. Repent of your sins and be baptized (Acts 2:38; Mark 16:16; 1 John 1:9; Luke 5:32; Matt. 4:17).
  4. Receive Jesus as your Lord and Savior (John 1:12; John 3:3-5: Rom. 6:23; Rom. 10:10; Mark 10:15).

Although entry into the Kingdom of Heaven is free, there are several requirements to enter. Entry is difficult, and only a few will inherit it (Matt. 22:14). To enter, it requires persecutions, sacrifices, sufferings and many tribulations (Matt. 5:10; 7:13-14; Luke 18:29-30; Acts 14:21-22).

What Is It Like?

The Kingdom is of righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit (Rom. 14:17). It is powerful and has authority over sicknesses, diseases, demonic spirits, and evil (1 Cor. 4:20; Matt. 4:23-24; 9:35; 10: 6; 12:28).

Who Can Enter?

In John 3, Jesus taught Nicodemus, a great ruler of the Jews about entry into the Kingdom of Heaven. Except a man is born of the water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the Kingdom of God (v.3). Sinners will not inherit the Kingdom of God (1 Cor. 6:9-11; John 3:1-36; Matt. 3:2; Eph. 5:5). God loved sinners so much, that he sent his only son into the world to die, so that whosoever believes in him, will not perish, but have everlasting life (John 3:16). Jesus was sent to preach the good news of the Kingdom of God to the people (Luke 4:43). No one will enter the Kingdom, except through Jesus (John 3:16; 11:25-26; 14:6).

The Kingdom is for those who rank it to be the most important in their lives (Matt. 6:33). It is for the poor in spirit, the pure in heart, and those who display humbleness like children (Matt. 5:3-8; 19:14; Mark 10:14-15; Luke 18:16-17).

Those who are righteous and follow Jesus will know the secrets of the Kingdom of God; but to others, it will be in parables (Luke 8:10). Not everyone who calls upon the name of the Lord will enter, but those who do the will of the Lord (Matt. 7:21).

The total amount of people who will inherit the Kingdom of God, will not be made known, until the day of harvest (Matt. 13:24-30).

“Why Am I Here?”

Have you ever ask yourself, “Why am I here?”

I guess if you are seeking to find out why you are here, you have been thinking about your God-given purpose(s) here on this earth. Our days on earth are numbered (Psalm 90:12). No one knows what their number is, or when it will be called. Your number is referring to the age that you will expire from this earth. Some people will live a longer life, while some people will live a shorter life on this earth. However, because life is uncertain, you will need to fulfill the purpose that God puts you on earth to fulfill, before your number is called.

Jesus came that you might have life and have it more abundantly (John 10:10). Having done this, He has a purpose for you to fulfill, and that is to walk in your Kingdom assignment(s). However, many people today have not identify their Kingdom assignment(s). They are just living their day-to-day life trying to get all that they desire from this life. Although this may be so, when you seek your Kingdom assignment(s) first, whatever you desire in this life, God will give it to you (Matthew 6:33).

You have got to strike a balance on this earth. You have to take care of your day-to-day affairs, realize your dreams, but at the same time, maintain a spiritual relationship with God. At the end of it all, when you see Jesus, what report will you give to Him? What are you going to tell Him that you have done for Him while you were here? Will you hear, “Well done, you good and faithful servant” (Matthew 25:21)?

Why worry about tomorrow? If you trust the Lord to take care of your needs, while you take care of His business, you do not have to worry about what the future holds. “Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what you shall eat, or what you shall drink; nor yet for your body, what you shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment? Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much better than they” (Matthew 6:25-26)?

Life is short, by the time you look around, you are not the young vibrant person you used to be, and before you know it, life is over! Moreover, tomorrow is not promised to anyone. With that being said, you have got to live life to the fullest, but do not forget that at the end of if it all, you have a report to give to the Lord. Have you fulfilled your Kingdom assignment(s) while you were here on this earth?

If you are walking in your Kingdom assignment (s), you will still need to find out if there are other assignments that God wants you to reposition to. Also, if you have not started walking in your Kingdom assignment(s), you will need to start asking God what He wants you to do for His Kingdom.

“For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he has done, whether it be good or bad” (2 Corinthians 5:10).

“Only one life, ’twill soon be past, only what’s done for Christ will last” (C.T. Studd) .

The Warrior’s Prayer:

Heavenly Father,
Your warrior prepares for battle.

Today I claim victory over Satan by putting on
the whole armor of God!

I put on the Girdle of Truth!
May I stand firm in the truth of Your Word so
I will not be a victim of Satan’s lies.

I put on the Breastplate of Righteousness!
May it guard my heart from evil so I will
remain pure and holy, protected under
the blood of Jesus Christ.

I put on the Shoes of Peace!
May I stand firm in the Good News of the
Gospel so Your peace will shine through me
and be a light to all I encounter.

I take the Shield of Faith!
May I be reader for Satan’s fiery darts of
doubt, denial, and deceit so I will not be
vulnerable to spiritual defeat.

I put on the Helmet of Salvation!
May I keep my mind focused on You so Satan
will not have a stronghold on my thoughts.

I take the Sword of the Spirit!
May the two-edged sword of Your Word
be ready in my hands so I can expose
the tempting words of Satan.

By faith your warrior has
put on the whole armor of God!

I am prepared to live this day in
spiritual victory! Amen.

Turning Point

You’re Forgiven!

Whatever situation the enemy is using in your past to haunt you and cause you to feel guilty, you’re forgiven!

You have got to stop beating up on yourself in believing the enemy’s trick of condemnation. The blood that washes whiter than snow is able to cleanse any sins and renew you to a perfect standing with God.

If you have prayed and asked God forgiveness, He has forgiven you! Although others might not have forgiven you, He has. LET IT GO!

The two thieves who were crucified with Jesus asked Him to remember them when He goes to His father’s Kingdom. In response, Jesus said, “Today you shall be with me in paradise (Matthew 23:43).

With that said, you have already been forgiven. It’s immediate! Therefore, be renewed. Forget those things which are behind, and reach forth for the things which are in front. It’s time to press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus (Philippians 3:13-14).

Defeating the Devil

The devil brings disaster, mayhem, confusion, hurt, terror, chaos, deception, distraction and defeat. Likewise, the list of negative connotations could go on and on. Simply put, he is like a thief who comes to steal, kill and destroy: On the other hand, Jesus came that you might have life more abundantly” (John 10:10).

Notably, there are many people today who are living a life of defeat, because they are so overwhelmed with tribulations, and they have somehow lost their zeal and faith in the Lord. Consequently, losing their zeal and faith in the Lord have prevented them from successfully defeating the devil.

scripture

In your weakest moment, that is when you have to be on the look-out for the devil. He likes to strike when you are down and out, as this is the point where you are most vulnerable to his attacks. He also uses great disguise in his tricks to defeat you. With this in mind, you have to be fully aware of the devil’s trick and distraction, in order to know how he operates, so you can defeat him.

In Ephesians 6:10-18, the Apostle Paul gave some very astounding encouragements and several key tools to defeat the devil. He advised you to put on the whole armor of God so that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil, meaning his tricks and tactics. This is so, because you wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities; against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

Spiritual Warfare

The devil is a spirit; therefore, flesh and blood cannot defeat him. He was cast out of Heaven along with other fallen angels. The devil apart from utilizing fallen angels, utilizes evil spirits around, as well as humans who fall prey to his whims.

By and large, the devil has a lot of forces and powers to work for him. Alternatively, the Holy Spirit is a spirit, and God has not given you a spirit of fear, but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). Considering this, the Holy Spirit will help you to fight against the devil, as this is not a fist fight, but a spiritual fight.
