Finding Peace and Deliverance in the Midst of Tribulations

It is sometimes difficult to give thanks in challenging circumstances. However, life is not without its fair share of trouble (John 16:33). Notwithstanding, when you look at the glass half-full instead of half-empty, you are inclined to give thanks in all circumstances.
“Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you” (1 Thessalonians 5:18, ESV). Therefore, think for a moment, and see what you can still give thanks for in your life, despite any challenges that you may have overcome or may now be experiencing.
We would like to wish you a Happy New Year, as you bid farewell to 2020. The year 2021 is a time to start fresh, despite any obstacles that you may have faced in 2020. If you have not come to know Jesus Christ as your personal Savior, 2021 is the time to embark on building a personal relationship with him. Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come (2 Corinthians 5:17, ESV). Remember to use your time wisely, as life is short, and our days are numbered (Psalm 90:12). Finally, do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God (Philippians 4:6, NIV).
The COVID-19 pandemic has taken its toll on the world. It can be difficult to see hope and be grateful. However, look for something to give thanks for every day, even if some days you have to look a little harder.

Remember, in all things; give thanks unto the Lord; for He is good and His mercy endures for ever (Psalms 136:1).
What if you see a sign which reads, “I’m Homeless and Hungry; Please Help Me!” What would you do?
This week a story caught my attention of a man who posed as a homeless and hungry person, in order to give away money to people who stopped to help him. See video below:
As I reflected on this week’s story, I am reminded of 1 Corinthians 13:2, “And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing.”
See the break-down of the criteria from the Scripture below:
Gift of prophecy
Understand all mysteries
Knowledge
Faith
Charity
Needless to say, I am blown away by the last criterion on the list. If one has such a wonderful gift of prophecy, in order to foresee and foretell things that will happen in the future, and can also interpret and relay the mysteries of God, which some people are oblivious of, and knowledge, which spans beyond comprehension, as well as faith so strong that it moves mountains, but have not charity, you have nothing. Charity means the voluntary giving of help, typically in the form of money, to those in need.
I am almost sure that this man who pretended to be homeless and hungry must have met so many rejections on the street, as opposed to the few who stopped to help. However, Paul instructed us to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how He said, “It is more blessed to give than to receive” (Acts 20:35).
As we approach the holiday seasons; there are many people who are less fortunate and maybe in dire needs. Seek your abundant blessings through giving, by helping someone.

‘I am too blessed to be stressed!’ The shortest distance between a problem and a solution is the distance between your knees and the floor. The one who kneels to the Lord can stand up to anything.

Remember, in all things; give thanks unto the Lord; for He is good and His mercy endures for ever (Psalms 136:1).
Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and Supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
