What if you see a sign which reads, “I’m Homeless and Hungry; Please Help Me!” What would you do?

Homeless and Hungry

This week a story caught my attention of a man who posed as a homeless and hungry person, in order to give away money to people who stopped to help him. See video below:

As I reflected on this week’s story, I am reminded of 1 Corinthians 13:2, “And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing.”

See the break-down of the criteria from the Scripture below:

  1. Gift of prophecy
  2. Understand all mysteries
  3. Knowledge
  4. Faith
  5. Charity

Needless to say, I am blown away by the last criterion on the list. If one has such a wonderful gift of prophecy, in order to foresee and foretell things that will happen in the future, and can also interpret and relay the mysteries of God, which some people are oblivious of, and knowledge, which spans beyond comprehension, as well as faith so strong that it moves mountains, but have not charity, you have nothing. Charity means the voluntary giving of help, typically in the form of money, to those in need.

I am almost sure that this man who pretended to be homeless and hungry must have met so many rejections on the street, as opposed to the few who stopped to help. However, Paul instructed us to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how He said, “It is more blessed to give than to receive” (Acts 20:35).

As we approach the holiday seasons; there are many people who are less fortunate and maybe in dire needs. Seek your abundant blessings through giving, by helping someone.

Pay it forward!

God bless you all!

Wolves in Sheep’s Clothing

It is very imperative that you watch diligently for deceit and deception among you. In a vision last night, my husband and I were looking on as a young lady dressed nicely, but whom we discerned as fake, approached two women walking by her.

Wolf

She beckoned to them for help and informed them that she was stranded. As the women went to her aid, they were consumed, as if they had vanished. A few minutes went by, and the trio emerged. The young lady now appeared with a mark of the devil. As she passed by our way, my husband and I held up a cross that glistened as a light in front of us. The young lady who now turned out to be a demon, went on her way with the two women, who obviously were unaware that they were walking with a demon.

Apparently the women did not discern this young lady as fake. Had they had the spirit of discernment, then they wouldn’t have been deceived to walk away with her. They were actually being led away by Satan.

Satan is very cunning and deceptive. He will bring things into your life, or people who appear to be the real deal, but instead it’s all fake. This is how the enemy will use deceit and deception to rob you of your joy, your happiness, your sense of belonging, your confidence, your health, your emotional well-being, your children, your marriage, your finances, your career, your ministry, your Christianity, and all that he knows you hold so dear to your heart.

You are like sheep in the midst of wolves. In order to survive, you have to be wise as a serpent, but at the same token, harmless as a dove (Matthew 10:16). In other words, evil will always be around, and you will always be in the midst of it. Nonetheless, you have to ensure that you are not walking gullible and naïve, thus leaving leeway for the enemy to deceive and destroy you.

The purpose of worship is to praise the creator of the universe. He is the only God; therefore, other gods are powerless. The value of worship brings about our praises and adorations in songs and testimonies, in order to reverence God and give him the glory.

Worship creates impact and changes the world, as it brings about joy, among other good things. Additionally, our songs and testimonies minister to others, and in turn, can give them a sense of joy, hope, peace, salvation, healing and deliverance, along with other transformational measures.

We worship in songs and testimonies in order to give God the glory and honor for salvation, along with all that he has done for us. He is powerful and above all other gods; therefore, he is majestic, strong and full of grace and beauty. Additionally, without salvation, humans would have perished. Therefore, the notion in Psalm 150:6, emphasizes why we should worship God, because we have breath. Therefore, let everyone that has breath, praise the Lord. Praise ye the Lord!

“The Parable of the Rich Man and Lazarus” was told by Jesus in the gospel of Luke 16:19-31. This denoted emphatic theological notion on the present and the future. Both men were presently living on earth, but one was rich and the other was poor. The rich man disregarded the poor man’s predicament. To point out, he showed no empathy, love or compassion to Lazarus. However, both men would eventually pass from the present life on earth, to their future destinations –Heaven and hell. Consequently, Lazarus was at peace and comfort in Abraham’s bosom in Heaven, while the rich man was facing torment in hell.

Additionally, the rich man begged Father Abraham to send Lazarus to come and quench his torment; but his request was refused (v.24). Notwithstanding, his plea presented a situation of pay-back, so to speak. In their present life on earth, Lazarus was desiring to be fed with the crumbs from this rich man’s table, but his plea was totally ignored (v.21). Now, this man was in hell feeling what Lazarus felt on earth, when he was living the rich life, and Lazarus was living the poor life. In other words, this parable denoted that our evil on earth will eventually have dire consequences.

Further, the rich man made a request to have Lazarus go to his father’s house to warn his brethren not to come to the place of torment that he was in. This request was also denied. Father Abraham said that they had Moses and the prophets to warn them, but the rich man believed that they would not listen to them. Instead, he thought if Lazarus go to them from the dead, they would repent. But Father Abraham told him that they would not listen to Lazarus, if they did not want to listen to Moses or the prophets.

Accordingly, this parable depicted another type of exhortation or public plea to get the attention of people, especially rich people who would treat others, who were less fortunate than themselves with disdain, unkindness, and lacking in compassion, that there would be dire consequences for this type of evil.

God Has Great Plans For You

Once there were three trees on a hill in the woods. They were discussing their hopes and dreams when the first tree said, “Someday I hope to be a treasure chest. I could be filled with gold, silver and precious gems. I could be decorated with intricate carving and everyone would see the beauty.”

Then the second tree said, “Someday I will be a mighty ship. I will take kings and queens across the waters and sail to the corners of the world. Everyone will feel safe in me because of the strength of my hull.”

Finally, the third tree said, “I want to grow to be the tallest and straightest tree in the forest. People will see me on top of the hill, and look up to my branches. They will then think of the heavens and God and how close to them I am reaching. I will be the greatest tree of all time and people will always remember me.”

After a few years of praying that their dreams would come true, a group of woodsmen came upon the trees. When one came to the first tree he said, “This looks like a strong tree, I think I should be able to sell the wood to a carpenter,” and he began cutting it down. The tree was happy, because he knew that the carpenter would make him into a treasure chest.

At the second tree, a woodsman said, “This looks like a strong tree, I should be able to sell it to the shipyard.” The second tree was happy because he knew he was on his way to becoming a mighty ship.

When the woodsmen came upon the third tree, the tree was frightened because he knew that if they cut him down his dreams would not come true. One of the woodsmen said, “I don’t need anything special from my tree, so I’ll take this one,” and he cut it down.

When the first tree arrived at the carpenters, he was made into a feed box for animals. He was then placed in a barn and filled with hay. This was not at all what he had prayed for. The second tree was cut and made into a small fishing boat. His dreams of being a mighty ship and carrying kings had come to an end. The third tree was cut into large pieces and left alone in the dark.

The years went by, and the trees forgot about their dreams. Then one day, a man and women came to the barn. She gave birth and they placed the baby in the hay in the feed box that was made from the first tree. The man wished that he could have made a crib for the baby, but this manger would have to do. The tree could feel the importance of this event and knew that it had held the greatest treasure of all time.

Years later, a group of men got in the fishing boat made from the second tree. One of them was tired and went to sleep. While they were out on the water, a great storm arose, and the tree didn’t think it was strong enough to keep the men safe. The men woke the sleeping man, and he stood and said, “Peace,” and the storm stopped. At this time, the tree knew that it had carried the king of kings in its boat.

Finally, someone came and got the third tree. It was carried through the streets as the people mocked the man who was carrying it. When they came to a stop, the man was nailed to the tree and raised in the air to die at the top of a hill. When Sunday came, the tree came to realize that it was strong enough to stand at the top of the hill and be as close to God as was possible, because Jesus had been crucified on it.

The moral of this story is that when things don’t seem to be going your way, always know that God has a plan for you. If you place your trust in Him, He will give you great gifts. Each of the trees got what they wanted, just not in the way they had imagined.

May your day be blessed.

May your road rise to meet you.

May the wind be always at your back.

May the sun shine warmly upon your face.

May the rain fall softly upon all that you plant.

May God cradle you in the palm of His hands.

If you find yourself in a hard place today, take courage, my friends. Only in Christ is true peace to be found. He reminded us in His word that in this life, we would have troubles, but we can find courage because He has overcome the world (John 16:33).

In spite of the struggles we may face in this life, we never walk alone, for He is with us. He will never abandon us in our trials or leave us to work it all out on our own.

Jesus never called us to embrace the world and all it offers. But He calls us to take up our own cross, and to follow Him, to be salt and light, and to walk in love.

It’s a whole new day ahead. And He has plans for you, for me, to make a difference in these days, in the life of another soul, for His purposes.

Praying that His huge grace, wisdom, and strength cover us today. And that, in Him, we will find freedom from worry as we let go of the stress that clings too tightly, the pressing needs of tomorrow, and struggles we battle today, so that we can fully embrace His gift of forgiveness and love.

He’s the Overcomer. And we are never alone.

Peace.

Have you been recently diagnosed with an ailment that turned your world upside down? Have you been dealing with a sickness for which the doctors do not have any permanent cure? A “Touch of Faith” can heal you from your ailment and return your life to normalcy today, if you just believe on Jesus.

Mark 5:25-34 told us of a woman who had been suffering many years from an issue of blood. She had spent all she had on many physicians. However, she grew rather worse. She heard that Jesus was in her town healing other people, and she decided she would go out to meet him. When she got there, the crowd was very thick, and she could not get very close to him. She thought to herself, “If I could just touch his clothes, I will be healed.” She did just that, and immediately the bleeding stopped.

Jesus, on the other hand, felt that virtue had gone out of his body, and immediately knew in himself, that someone had touched him. He asked, “Who touched my clothes?” His disciples were thinking that he must be crazy, because there were so many people around him, and anyone could have just brushed against his clothes. But Jesus insisted that it was more than just a mere brushing of his garment by someone in the crowd. He sensed that someone had touched him with a “Touch of Faith.” So he looked around to see who did it. But the woman fearing and trembling, knowing that she had been healed, came and fell down at his feet, and told him the truth. He then said to her, “Daughter, thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace, and be whole of thy plague.”

A “Touch of Faith” can give you peace and heal you from your ailment today. It’s not over until God says it’s over. God sees you struggling with something today, and wants to tell you that faith can move the biggest mountain in your life, if you just trust and believe in him. He’s still in the miracle making business, and he’s still in the healing business. “For with God nothing shall be impossible.” (Luke 1:37)  Do not let your fear overcome your faith. Chose which direction you want to go today. Your life depends on the direction you take.
