When you are chosen by God to pursue His mission and purpose, you may become isolated because families and friends may turn their backs on you, as you face the storms of life in preparation for your Kingdom assignments.
The Scripture warns that, “If the world hates you, know that it has hated me before it hated you. If you were of the world, the world would love you as its own; but because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you (John 15:18-19 ESV).”
Do not look to please people, but look to please God, as you are a servant of Christ (Galatians 1:10). You do not have to answer to people, but you do have to give a personal account to God (Romans 14:12). Therefore, you cannot explain to God that others have prevented you from answering His call, as they were jealous of you or hated you because you were chosen.
Answering God’s call requires you to deny yourself and take up your cross daily and follow Him (Luke 9:23). As a result, you will endure trials and tribulations, as you follow God to fulfill the mandate of your calling. However, your obedience will bring blessings (Deuteronomy 28:1-2), and your reward will be sure (Proverbs 11:18).
