A Season To Be Joyful

Jesus

From Our Family To Yours

We wish each and every one of you a Merry Christmas!

It’s a season to be joyful. Therefore, give thanks for what you still have, and is able to do. Do not worry about what’s already gone, and you’re not able to do anymore.

Remember the reason for the season, and that Jesus brought peace, joy and hope to this world.

Whether you’re staying home for the holidays or you’re traveling, please be safe.

God bless you and your family.

Psalms 23 – An Eye Opener!

P1050877

Some probably never thought nor looked at this Psalm in this way, even though they say it over and over again.

The Lord is my shepherd – that’s relationship!

I shall not want – that’s supply!

He maketh me to lie down in green pastures – that’s rest!

He leadeth me beside the still waters – that’s refreshment!

He restoreth my soul – that’s healing!

He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness – that’s guidance!

For His name sake – that’s purpose!

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death – that’s testing!

I will fear no evil – that’s protection!

For thou art with me -that’s faithfulness!

Thy rod and Thy staff they comfort me – that’s discipline!

Thou prepares a table before me in the presence of mine enemies – that’s hope!

Thou annointest my head with oil – that’s consecration!

My cup runneth over – that’s abundance!

Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life – that’s blessing!

And I will dwell in the house of the Lord – that’s security!

Forever – that’s eternity!

When Ministry Knocks You Down

If you’re a pastor, a missionary, or serve in a church, you can’t avoid discouragement, disappointment, or hurt from ministry. The bible even uses the not-so-complimentary metaphor “sheep” to describe those we serve. And sheep get dirty and smelly and often kick and bite.

Sometimes those sheep in the church do the same to their shepherds.

So when you get kicked, forgotten, disrespected, ignored, mistreated, gossiped about, or misunderstood, how do you move forward?

The story recorded in 1 Samuel 30 gives great insight. David had just begun his career to fight the bad guys. Early on he faced a huge defeat. While he and his army were in battle far from home, the bad guys, the Amalekites, attacked the city where his family and the families of his army lived. They burned the city and kidnapped their wives and children. When David’s men discovered this, they considered removing him from his position, not by a vote of a board or a congregation, but with big rocks to the head by stoning.

The Scriptures then record one of the most beautiful verses ever written. The King James Version captures it well:

David encouraged himself in the Lord his God.  (1 Sam. 30:6)

It worked because his guys didn’t stone him but marshaled their energy and once again pursued the bad guys under his leadership.

As I’ve faced discouragement in ministry, these simple choices have helped me encourage myself in the Lord.

  • Acknowledge your pain and emotion to the Lord, but don’t wallow in it.
  • Journal your thoughts. Writing them down helps me stop the tendency to incessantly mull over the hurtful situation.
  • Read God’s word, especially those verses that speak of hope and victory.
  • Do something pro-active. Take action to move forward. In David’s case he took specific action to resolve the problem. He rallied his troops to chase down the Amalekites.
  • Stop condemning yourself and remind yourself that you are a child of God, loved by Him with great intrinsic value regardless of whether  your church is growing or whether people treat you with respect.
  • Pray for those who have hurt you. I’m amazed how God diffuses looming bitterness in my heart when I pray for the sheep that bite me.

If you get knocked down, sincerely seek the Lord and rise up in His strength to begin anew.

We can be joyful at all times not because we are spared affliction but because we are completely satisfied in Christ.

Jesus promises that we will suffer. In Matthew 10:17-18, Jesus warns his followers, “Be on your guard against men; they will hand you over to the local councils and flog you in their synagogues. On my account you will be brought before governors and kings as witnesses to them and to the Gentiles.” Although that quote may seem distant or irrelevant to Christians today, the point remains that, in the words of Christ, “if the head of the house [Jesus himself] has been called Beelzebub, how much more the members of his household!”

Not only does Jesus promise that believers must suffer, the Apostle Paul assures us that the path to being an heir of God demands sharing in the sufferings of Christ (Romans 8:17). Similarly, Paul writes this to those in the church at Philippi: it has been granted to you on behalf of Christ not only to believe on him, but also to suffer for him (Philippians 1:29).

Clearly, we, as Christians, will not be spared affliction. (In addition to the Scriptures above, see Acts 9:15-16, Philippians 3:10-11, and 1 Timothy 1:8-9.)

Despite being assured affliction and suffering, Christ-followers can be joyful nonetheless.

We can be joyful not by creating a bubbly faced facade of happiness to hide reality but rather by confidently knowing that, in the face of immense sin and suffering, we are secure in Christ. Why fear and be saddened by those who can only kill the body when you’re protected by Him who can keep you from hell (Luke 12:4-7)? Or, to put it positively, rejoice that you have received the Holy Spirit, who guarantees your eternal salvation—and thus, your eternal joy (2 Corinthians 1:21-22).

The faith that justifies is the very same faith that satisfies. Saving faith satisfies us by weaning us from the short-lived satisfaction of sin to ultimate satisfaction in Christ.

Thus, despite the fact that suffering will come even—or, perhaps, especially—to us who profess faith in Christ, we can have great joy not because we are spared affliction but because we are completely satisfied in Christ.

Hold on to God

Break Free Today!

Whatever situation that the enemy is using to chain you to him, you have got to break free today! If the enemy is using sickness, poverty, anger, addiction, deception, doubt, depression, loneliness, and sins to chain you to him, you have got to seek your deliverance in the mighty name of Jesus.

Break Every Chain

You are in a spiritual warfare, and as you battle with the spirits of darkness, you need to have faith to receive your deliverance. Satan uses chains to bind his captives, in order to have them defeated. He comes to kill, steal and to destroy (John 10:10). But how long will you allow him to ruin your life and your home, while you sit helpless?

If you are chained to the devil in any sort of way, it’s time to break free! So wherever you are, begin to praise God now! “Arise, shine; for the light is come, and the glory of the Lord is risen upon you” (Isaiah 60:1).

Darkness has no place in your life. It doesn’t matter what you have done in the past, Jesus is ready to forgive you and set you free today! Your deliverance is not tomorrow or next week, or next month, or next year. Jesus said, “Today, you shall be with me in paradise” (Luke 23:43).

I declare over your life that you are free in the mighty name of Jesus!

There is a danger in starting a fire; you will never know how many bridges you will burn in the process. However, sometimes it isn’t a bad thing, as it may prevent you from going back to a place, where you should never have been at, to begin with.

Best Friends

Friends come and go, but real friends stay; chances are, if someone is in the past, that person deserves to stay there.  You cry over friends you will never have back, people you once loved and bridges that have been burnt.  Notwithstanding, there is a reason why these bridges have been burnt in the first place.  The past is in the past.  Therefore, you only have so much room in your life, so begin to save it for people who deserve it.

 Proverbs 17:17 ( NIV)
A friend loves at all times, and a brother is born for adversity

 “Choose your friends carefully.”

What would it be like if you call in to pay a debt, and you hear your balance is zero? That would be nice indeed, wouldn’t it? Well, this is just how nice it is to hear that your debt in sins has been paid in full. Read on:

Paid in Full

One day Satan went to visit Jesus in the Garden of Eden. Satan and Jesus were having a conversation, and Satan was all happy and boasting. (Luke 4: 1-12; Job 1: 6-12)

“Yes, Lord, now I have everybody captive, (well nearly everybody down there). I set traps, I used the baits of temptation, and I know very well what each one of them can’t resist.  I nearly caught them all!” (I Pet 5: 8-9; Eph 6: 10-17)

“What are you going to do with them?” Jesus asked, as He was praying to God the Father.

Satan answered, “Oh, I am going to have some fun with them! I’ll make them divorce after they have been married so the foundation of humanity will never be able to be established ‘the family’.” (Mt 19: 4-6; Mal 2: 16)

“I will make them hate and abuse each other, and I will make them fall into alcohol and drugs addiction.” (Rom 13: 12-14)

“I will teach them to make weapons and bombs,
so that they will kill each other. I am really going to have fun!”

“And when you are tired of playing with them, what will you do?”
Jesus asked, as He continued praying.

“Oh, I will kill them all, and their souls will be mine forever. Lord by all respect, it’s their decision.” (I John 3: 8-10)

“How much do you want for all of them?” Jesus asked.

“Oh, you don’t want these people. They aren’t anything good.
Why do you want them if they neither follow you nor love you?
Many hate you! I have seen many of them cursing you, and even denying you. What’s more, they love me a lot.” (Mt 24: 10-13)

“You don’t want these people!!”

“How much?” Jesus asked again.

Satan looked at Him with a nasty face, and replied, “All your blood, sweat and tears.” (Is 53: 4-10; I Pet 2: 24)

Jesus said…”DONE!”

And He paid the price. (II Cor 5: 21)

How terrible it is that people don’t seek God, and then ask themselves why the world is going to Hell? How terrible it is that we seek the newspaper everyday to read tragedies and gossips, and we never seek to read the Bible?

How insensible it is that everybody wants to go to Heaven, thinking they can get there without having to believe, without loving God, above all things, doing what the Bible says…the Laws of God?

It is terrible how some people can say ‘I believe in God’ but still follow Satan. (Who as a matter of fact, does fear God) (II Tim 4: 3-4; II Jn 1: 7-11)
Don’t you think it is outrageous that the obscene, vulgar and crude message is allowed freely to pass through the internet, but when it’s a message about God, we think about it twice before we share it? It is forbidden to speak publicly about Jesus in the schools, places of work, self-helping groups, etc., even after knowing what He did for us. The Romans didn’t killed Him, our sins caused His death, that we may be forgiven, and know Him in His glory with the Father.

Happy Easter Everyone!

Just thought of sharing this story of a scenario with Satan and Jesus, and the price Jesus paid for our sins. Author is unknown, but I thought it very interesting. Hope you do too. Share your feedback.

Have you been struggling and seeking the answer you need to find peace and deliverance from whatever situation you are facing in your life today?

struggles

Has the devil been feeding you with negative and defeating thoughts to make you believe that you will never overcome your struggles?

The answer to your struggles is just a distance between your knees and the floor. Prayer is a powerful resource that you can utilize to find the peace and comfort you need to get you through whatever situation you are struggling with.

You might be depressed, confused, exhausted and hopeless, but Jesus encourages you in the Scripture, “Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light” Matthew 11:28-30.

God’s Compassion Never Fails

When life’s troubles hit you like a tidal wave, you must remember that God’s Compassion never fails (Lamentations 3:22).

God can give you the hope you need….. feeling hopeless reminds you that you are helpless without God.
