He’s Risen!

Come and celebrate the Resurrection of our Lord. Happy Easter to you all!

Hammock

Maintain your peace at all times, says the Lord. To do that you have to stay focused spiritually and not allow frustration to open the door to an attack of the enemy. Be calm and continue to trust that I will show you the way through every challenge even when it has become a maze of confusion. Preserve your poise. (Poise is defined as a stably balanced state, equilibrium, self-assurance, gracious tact in coping).

Isaiah 26:3 You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You.

The Best Is Yet To Come!

Are you feeling like you’re at your wit’s end? Well, I bet as human being, everyone has their wit’s end moment. Notwithstanding, some people press forward, knowing that the best is yet to come; while others roll over and play dead.

If you’re at your wit’s end today, which choice will you make? Will you press forward, knowing that the best is yet to come? Or will you roll over and play dead?

If you chose the latter, you will not be able to function mentally or emotionally. Moreover, you will also have everything turning topsy-turvy in your life. When you are confused and disoriented, you can’t think straight. As a result, you don’t have the mental and spiritual energy to press forward. That’s why you have to try your best to keep it together, in order to see the outcome of the Lord’s promises in your life.

Having done this, you should hold on a little longer and take Jesus by His Words, because He never fails. Be strong and of good courage, and do it: fear not, nor be dismayed: for the Lord God, even my God, will be with you; He will not fail you, nor forsake you, until you have finished all the work for the service of the house of the Lord (1 Chronicles 28:20).

The best is yet to come!

Thank You!

Remember, in all things; give thanks unto the Lord; for He is good and His mercy endures for ever (Psalms 136:1).

Don’t run from your trials

Everyone faces many trials; however, these trials are not in vain. God uses them to do a work in us, developing us into mature Christians.

In James 1:2-4, we are told, Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. In other words, God uses the tough times in life to sharpen us, making us mature and complete Christians.

Furthermore, God will not permit you to remain in the same trials all of your life; in His proper timing He will deliver you. Psalm 34:17 says, The righteous cry out, and the LORD hears them; he delivers them from all their troubles.

So don’t run from your trials, because the testing of your faith develops you into a mature and complete Christian.

Psalms 23 – An Eye Opener!

P1050877

Some probably never thought nor looked at this Psalm in this way, even though they say it over and over again.

The Lord is my shepherd – that’s relationship!

I shall not want – that’s supply!

He maketh me to lie down in green pastures – that’s rest!

He leadeth me beside the still waters – that’s refreshment!

He restoreth my soul – that’s healing!

He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness – that’s guidance!

For His name sake – that’s purpose!

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death – that’s testing!

I will fear no evil – that’s protection!

For thou art with me -that’s faithfulness!

Thy rod and Thy staff they comfort me – that’s discipline!

Thou prepares a table before me in the presence of mine enemies – that’s hope!

Thou annointest my head with oil – that’s consecration!

My cup runneth over – that’s abundance!

Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life – that’s blessing!

And I will dwell in the house of the Lord – that’s security!

Forever – that’s eternity!

Seeking God’s Hidden Face

Have you ever felt like God has been hiding from you? Have you ever felt broken and alone?

I am sure many of us have felt this way at some points in our lives. You may have tried to come into God’s presence, and it seems He was nowhere to be found. You wondered when your tribulations would end.

Your feelings can be resonated with the Psalmist David when he wrote Psalms 13:1, “How long wilt thou forget me, O Lord? Forever? How long wilt thou hide thy face from me?”As David pondered, he directed the question: “How long wilt thou forget me O Lord?” He went on to answer the rhetorical question himself before even waiting on God to acknowledge the question. David answered, and said, “Forever?” However, notice that David answered the question with another question to God, still waiting on God’s answer. David had somehow been through some tough and trying times in his life. At the time when he needed God the most, God seemed to be hiding. Or was God really hiding?

In Psalms 51:17, David recognized that God had not given up on him, even after he had committed the ultimate sin of adultery and murder. We know the story in 2 Samuel 11 where David committed the ultimate sin of adultery with Uriah’s wife, and to have her for himself, he sent Uriah to battle and placed him at the forefront of the war, where the enemy could overthrow him.

Uriah died as a result of this. After he was killed, David took unto himself Uriah’s wife. God had been very displeased with him for this act, and threatened to raise up evil against David. After David realized the horrible sin he had committed, and how it displeased the Lord, he penned Psalms 51 asking God to have mercy upon him.

In verse 17, he stated, “The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise.” This verse in a sense answered David’s questions to God in Psalms 13, when he asked God how long will He forget him. David realized that God does not despise a broken-hearted person who is seeking His face.

Sometimes your heart is broken and you are so depressed and devastated, that you can’t even pray. There might be something that had happened in your life, something so horrible, that you feel that God did not care enough to prevent it, and you feel angry, broken and bitter.  Nonetheless, God has a way of working out the worst of situations in your life, and that’s why no matter what you go through, you should always have the faith to know that He means you good, and that He won’t harm you, according to Jeremiah 29:11, (NIV) “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “Plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

If you believe in Him, and you understand His love for you, then you will know that no matter what may have happened in your life, your future will be secured. Therefore, no matter how broken and bitter you may feel, God is always there with open arms to receive you. Knowing this, you can rest assured that your broken heart have a way home, straight into the open arms of God.

When tribulations attack you, you should know that it will all turn out for the better. You might not see it now, but then, that’s where faith comes in. In Romans 8:28, (NIV) “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose.” With this Scripture in mind, you can know that your tribulations will turn out for the better.

When you look back on Psalms 51, you can ask yourself: “What better sacrifice can God get from me than a broken spirit?” When your spirit is broken, God can reach you better. His words can connect with you on a more intimate level. When you are fine and everything is going great, you tend not to spend too much time reading the Bible, praying, fasting, and seeking God’s hidden face.

Dealing with Disappointment

2012-07-23_Dealing_With_Disappointment

The cartoon above depicts a conversation with a movie patron who wants to buy a ticket to see the movie, “The Dark Knight Rises.” However, when the patron got to the ticket booth, the tickets were sold out! This patron must have been disappointed, as he replied, “But I have to see it now!!!” Everyone should have heard what had happened during the movie, “The Dark Knight Rises,” in Aurora, Colorado on Friday, July 20, 2012. The movie turned into a reality of horror when a gunman invaded the theater, and started shooting the patrons. So, although this patron in the cartoon was disappointed by not being able to get a ticket to see this movie, he must have been so happy that he was disappointed after learning about the horror that took place at the movie theater that same day.

Have you been denied something, or been disappointed by someone? Every disappointment in your life is an appointment with God. People do not determine your destiny, God does. Why some people are a disappointment in your life is because God does not want them to be a part of your destiny.

So if you have been denied something, or been disappointed by someone, rejoice in your disappointment, because that’s not the way God wants you to go. When God closes one door, he opens up another. But sometimes you look too long on the closed-door, that you do not see the one that God is opening up for you.

God’s delay is not God’s denial. That’s where your faith and trust in God plays a vital part in your life. So just trust Him, and be patient to see what next He has in store for you. It might not have been the route that you were taking, or the path that you were pursuing.

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart; and lean not to your own understanding.  In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths” (Proverbs 3:5-6).
