Do you have a family member, close friend, or someone you knew very well, who has recently died? Have you loss something that you have possessed that has changed your life dramatically? Have you invested all you have got in something you thought you would have gained from, but have loss instead? Have you recently moved, changed your job, or is going through any other major life changes or losses?
Grief and loss can be a horrible and painful experience that you may encounter in your life, and everyone will have to go through this experience at some points in their life. Nonetheless, trying to develop a coping mechanism is essential to enable you to get through the process.
You may experience a sense of shock, anger, or even guilt, by seeking ways of blaming yourself, or thinking of things that you should have or could have done. In light of what you are experiencing, your feelings of sadness may take days, months, or even years to get through, but, everyone grieves differently, so you should not feel bad about expressing your emotions. You should cry if you need to, as crying is a normal part of the grieving process.
If you have a difficult time expressing your emotions to others, you should try writing about your feelings in a journal or diary. You can also join a support group, and try to talk to others who have gone through similar experience. Try not to isolate yourself, but reach out to others, and accept their assistance, if they offer to help you. If your grief and loss is unbearable, and you are unable to cope, you can also seek professional help.
Remember, your pain is never permanent, and the time will pass when you will get through the grieving process. At the same token, you should endeavor to take proper care of yourself during the grieving process, by eating a balance meal, exercising, and getting enough rest, as the symptoms of sleeplessness, anxiety, depression, and forgetfulness can often times accompany grief.
And, lastly, but most importantly, look to God for help. Inspirational outreach is a great way of coping in times of grief and loss. Jesus reminded you in Matthew 11:28, “Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” Jesus will comfort you through your darkest moment. He will restore and take care of your every needs, just trust Him to guide you to the road to recovery.
Have you been struggling and seeking the answer you need to find peace and deliverance from whatever situation you are facing in your life today?
Has the devil been feeding you with negative and defeating thoughts to make you believe that you will never overcome your struggles?
The answer to your struggles is just a distance between your knees and the floor. Prayer is a powerful resource that you can utilize to find the peace and comfort you need to get you through whatever situation you are struggling with.
You might be depressed, confused, exhausted and hopeless, but Jesus encourages you in the Scripture, “Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.” Matthew 11:28-30
If you pray and trust Him by faith to give you the answer you have been waiting for; then there’s nothing too big for God to handle. “With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.” Matthew 19:26
“Don’t pray when you feel like it. Have an appointment with the Lord and keep it. A man is powerful on his knees.” ~ Corrie ten Boom
I will share a story with you that explains the moral of money and richness.
One day a rich Dad took his son on a trip to the Village. He wanted to show him how poor someone can be. They spent time on the farm of a poor family. Dad asked, “Did you see how poor they are? What did you learn?” Son said, “We have one dog, they have four, we have one pool, they have rivers, we have lanterns at night, they have stars, we buy food, they grow theirs, we have walls to protect us, they have friends, we have encyclopedias, they have Bibles.” After heading home, the son said, “Thanks Dad for showing me how poor we are.”
MORAL LESSON:
It’s not about money that make us rich,
It’s about simplicity of having God in our lives.
So next time you think of considering how poor you are, consider how rich you are in Christ. “But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:19) KJV
The cartoon above depicts a conversation with a movie patron who wants to buy a ticket to see the movie, “The Dark Knight Rises.” However, when the patron got to the ticket booth, the tickets were sold out! This patron must have been disappointed, as he replied, “But I have to see it now!!!” Everyone should have heard what had happened during the movie, “The Dark Knight Rises,” in Aurora, Colorado on Friday, July 20, 2012. The movie turned into a reality of horror when a gunman invaded the theater, and started shooting the patrons. So, although this patron in the cartoon was disappointed by not being able to get a ticket to see this movie, he must have been so happy that he was disappointed after learning about the horror that took place at the movie theater that same day.
Have you been denied something, or been disappointed by someone? Every disappointment in your life is an appointment with God. People do not determine your destiny, God does. Why some people are a disappointment in your life is because God does not want them to be a part of your destiny.
So if you have been denied something, or been disappointed by someone, rejoice in your disappointment, because that’s not the way God wants you to go. When God closes one door, he opens up another. But sometimes you look too long on the closed-door, that you do not see the one that God is opening up for you.
God’s delay is not God’s denial. That’s where your faith and trust in God plays a vital part in your life. So just trust him, and be patient to see what next he has in store for you. It might not have been the route that you were taking, or the path that you were pursuing.
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart; and lean not to your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct your paths.” (Proverbs 3:5-6)
Have you been recently diagnosed with an ailment that turned your world upside down? Have you been dealing with a sickness for which the doctors do not have any permanent cure? A “Touch of Faith” can heal you from your ailment and return your life to normalcy today, if you just believe on Jesus.
Mark 5:25-34 told us of a woman who had been suffering many years from an issue of blood. She had spent all she had on many physicians. However, she grew rather worse. She heard that Jesus was in her town healing other people, and she decided she would go out to meet him. When she got there, the crowd was very thick, and she could not get very close to him. She thought to herself, “If I could just touch his clothes, I will be healed.” She did just that, and immediately the bleeding stopped.
Jesus, on the other hand, felt that virtue had gone out of his body, and immediately knew in himself, that someone had touched him. He asked, “Who touched my clothes?” His disciples were thinking that he must be crazy, because there were so many people around him, and anyone could have just brushed against his clothes. But Jesus insisted that it was more than just a mere brushing of his garment by someone in the crowd. He sensed that someone had touched him with a “Touch of Faith.” So he looked around to see who did it. But the woman fearing and trembling, knowing that she had been healed, came and fell down at his feet, and told him the truth. He then said to her, “Daughter, thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace, and be whole of thy plague.”
A “Touch of Faith” can give you peace and heal you from your ailment today. It’s not over until God says it’s over. God sees you struggling with something today, and wants to tell you that faith can move the biggest mountain in your life, if you just trust and believe in him. He’s still in the miracle making business, and he’s still in the healing business. “For with God nothing shall be impossible.” (Luke 1:37) Do not let your fear overcome your faith. Chose which direction you want to go today. Your life depends on the direction you take.
Words of love, words of forgiveness, words of apology, words of appreciation, words of understanding.
