To: You
Today is Good Friday.
Think back over the events of this week as if they were a computer text document.
Has this been a really tough week?  Have there been a lot of challenges and problems that you are glad you have simply survived?
Then, in your mind, press the “delete” key and let this week go.  It’s over.  Cease to focus upon it. Empty your trash file and leave behind the events of this week.
If, however, there have been some good experiences– experiences that brought you joy and satisfaction; or, if you overcame challenges which have now given you resources to live even more fully, imagine highlighting, cutting and pasting these events into a new document titled “Next Week.”  Set your intention now to enjoy the upcoming week to the fullest.
Lastly, if this week has been extraordinary, then consider saving it as a template for your future.  Create a file for this wonderful week and let it serve as a model for what is to come.
Delete, cut and paste, or make a template.
You choose.
Love,
God

Coping with Grief and Loss

Do you have a family member, close friend, or someone you knew very well, who has recently died? Have you loss something that you have possessed that has changed your life dramatically? Have you invested all you have got in something you thought you would have gained from, but have loss instead? Have you recently moved, changed your job, or is going through any other major life changes or losses?

sad

Grief and loss can be a horrible and painful experience that you may encounter in your life, and everyone will have to go through this experience at some points in their life. Nonetheless, trying to develop a coping mechanism is essential to enable you to get through the process.

You may experience a sense of shock, anger, or even guilt, by seeking ways of blaming yourself, or thinking of things that you should have or could have done. In light of what you are experiencing, your feelings of sadness may take days, months, or even years to get through, but, everyone grieves differently, so you should not feel bad about expressing your emotions. You should cry if you need to, as crying is a normal part of the grieving process.

If you have a difficult time expressing your emotions to others, you should try writing about your feelings in a journal or diary. You can also join a support group, and try to talk to others who have gone through similar experience. Try not to isolate yourself, but reach out to others, and accept their assistance, if they offer to help you. If your grief and loss is unbearable, and you are unable to cope, you can also seek professional help.

Remember, your pain is never permanent, and the time will pass when you will get through the grieving process. At the same token, you should endeavor to take proper care of yourself during the grieving process, by eating a balance meal, exercising, and getting enough rest, as the symptoms of sleeplessness, anxiety, depression, and forgetfulness can often times accompany grief.

And, lastly, but most importantly, look to God for help. Inspirational outreach is a great way of coping in times of grief and loss. Jesus reminded you in Matthew 11:28, “Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” Jesus will comfort you through your darkest moment. He will restore and take care of your every needs, just trust Him to guide you to the road to recovery.

Have you been struggling and seeking the answer you need to find peace and deliverance from whatever situation you are facing in your life today?

Has the devil been feeding you with negative and defeating thoughts to make you believe that you will never overcome your struggles?

The answer to your struggles is just a distance between your knees and the floor. Prayer is a powerful resource that you can utilize to find the peace and comfort you need to get you through whatever situation you are struggling with.

You might be depressed, confused, exhausted and hopeless, but Jesus encourages you in the Scripture, “Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.” Matthew 11:28-30

If you pray and trust Him by faith to give you the answer you have been waiting for; then there’s nothing too big for God to handle. “With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.” Matthew 19:26

Let God Handle It

Have someone hurt you in the past? Have you trusted someone whom you thought would be there with you all the step of the way, through whatever situation you were facing in your life, but that person began to resent you, and turned their back on you? Have you invested all you have got in a relationship, but no matter how hard you tried, your spouse became unfaithful, unkind, and uncaring? Have your own family, friends, or business associate deceived you, and abandoned you? Have your own children became unappreciative and uncaring? Have you invested all your labor in a job that you got nothing in return for? Your employer or boss may not have recognized your hard work, and overlooked you for a possible salary advancement or promotion. Have someone intentionally hurt you or someone you love in any form?

These questions are scenarios that you might have had to deal with at some point in your life. However, even though all may not apply to you, some may apply to you, or others that are not mentioned here. Despite this fact, whatever hurt or pain you have endured, or are enduring in your life, because of a person who has wronged you, you have to come to a place where you can forgive that person, so you can find peace in your soul, and be at peace with God. The Scripture states, “For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you: But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.” Matthew 6:14-15 (KJV)

Even though you might have had to deal with some form of betrayal in your life, do not let this causes you to become bitter and revengeful. If you are not careful, you will want to unleash your own vengeance and become vindictive. In light of this, you should understand that God advised you to leave all vengeance to Him. The Scripture says, “Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, says the Lord.” Romans 12:19 (KJV)

I recently heard a story on TV where two girls were unpopular and became target of bullies in school, so both of them decided to become friends. However, one of the girls devised a strategy to become friends with her opponents, and in the process disregarded her unpopular friend. Her friend felt betrayed and hurt, and so decided that she would make her pay for hurting her, and have her feel the way she felt.

Subsequently, she created a fake profile of a boy on My Space and sent a friend’s request to her old friend, who accepted. Her old friend began to confide in this new boyfriend, by telling him things about all her friends, including her former unpopular friend, as well as other stuff that she was facing in her life.

However, after five weeks she got an email from the boy telling her that he was not interested in her anymore, and that he was going to tell all her friends what she had said about them. Consequently, this opened the door for cyber bullying. Every one of her friends now turned against her. Her world had fallen apart, and she felt betrayed and hurt. As a result, she committed suicide by hanging herself.

After her death, everything began to unfold; the boy was fictitious and was created by her old unpopular friend. In addition, this plot had not only involved her old unpopular friend, but her mother, and another relative as well. Although they all did it to get back to her, so she could feel the pain that her betrayed unpopular friend felt; it went way further than that. It had contributed to her death. They got in trouble with the law for doing this, and everyone in town turned against them.

That’s why it’s important, no matter how bad someone has hurt you, that you let God vindicates you, instead of taking revenge into your own hands.

Letting go is not easy, but it’s a healing process for yourself. The Psalmist David was hurt when his own friend had betrayed him. This person had been his church brethren, and he trusted and confided in this person. At the same token, this person did not share David’s sentiment, but deceived him instead.

David’s life was now in jeopardy, as the very person he trusted, was seeking to kill him. If this person was an enemy, then David could be more cautious and protected himself. However, this person whom he trusted, had more personal access to him.

David became fearful for his life, and so, in penning Psalms 55, David expressed his deepest fears, anxiety, and betrayal. He stated, “For it was not an enemy that reproached me; then I could have borne it: neither was it he that hated me that did magnify himself against me; then I would have hid myself from him: But it was thou, a man mine equal, my guide, and mine acquaintance. We took sweet counsel together, and walked unto the house of God in company.” Psalms 55:12-14 (KJV).

Sometimes the person whom you trusted and thought would have been there for you, had instead turned against. This can indeed be painful, however, you can seek the one person who will vindicate you, and deliver your soul in peace from past hurt and pain.

In light of this, you too have a responsibility; you have to let go off past hurt and pain. Although David had been betrayed and hurt by his close friend, he did not become callous and bitter, neither did he take revenge and matter into his own hands, instead, he allowed God to vindicate him. He said, “As for me, I will call upon God; and the Lord shall save me. Evening, and morning, and at noon, will I pray, and cry aloud: and he shall hear my voice. He hath delivered my soul in peace from the battle that was against me: for there were many with me.” Psalms 55:16-18 (KJV)

I will share a story with you that explains the moral of money and richness.

????????????????????????????????????????

One day a rich Dad took his son on a trip to the Village. He wanted to show him how poor someone can be. They spent time on the farm of a poor family. Dad asked, “Did you see how poor they are? What did you learn?” Son said, “We have one dog, they have four, we have one pool, they have rivers, we have lanterns at night, they have stars, we buy food, they grow theirs, we have walls to protect us, they have friends, we have encyclopedias, they have Bibles.” After heading home, the son said, “Thanks Dad for showing me how poor we are.”

MORAL LESSON:

It’s not about money that make us rich,

It’s about simplicity of having God in our lives.

So next time you think of considering how poor you are, consider how rich you are in Christ. “But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:19) KJV

Dealing with Disappointment

2012-07-23_Dealing_With_Disappointment

The cartoon above depicts a conversation with a movie patron who wants to buy a ticket to see the movie, “The Dark Knight Rises.” However, when the patron got to the ticket booth, the tickets were sold out! This patron must have been disappointed, as he replied, “But I have to see it now!!!” Everyone should have heard what had happened during the movie, “The Dark Knight Rises,” in Aurora, Colorado on Friday, July 20, 2012. The movie turned into a reality of horror when a gunman invaded the theater, and started shooting the patrons. So, although this patron in the cartoon was disappointed by not being able to get a ticket to see this movie, he must have been so happy that he was disappointed after learning about the horror that took place at the movie theater that same day.

Have you been denied something, or been disappointed by someone? Every disappointment in your life is an appointment with God. People do not determine your destiny, God does. Why some people are a disappointment in your life is because God does not want them to be a part of your destiny.

So if you have been denied something, or been disappointed by someone, rejoice in your disappointment, because that’s not the way God wants you to go. When God closes one door, he opens up another. But sometimes you look too long on the closed-door, that you do not see the one that God is opening up for you.

God’s delay is not God’s denial. That’s where your faith and trust in God plays a vital part in your life. So just trust him, and be patient to see what next he has in store for you. It might not have been the route that you were taking, or the path that you were pursuing.

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart; and lean not to your own understanding.  In all your ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct your paths.” (Proverbs 3:5-6)

“Touch of Faith”

Have you been recently diagnosed with an ailment that turned your world upside down? Have you been dealing with a sickness for which the doctors do not have any permanent cure? A “Touch of Faith” can heal you from your ailment and return your life to normalcy today, if you just believe on Jesus.

Mark 5:25-34 told us of a woman who had been suffering many years from an issue of blood. She had spent all she had on many physicians. However, she grew rather worse. She heard that Jesus was in her town healing other people, and she decided she would go out to meet him. When she got there, the crowd was very thick, and she could not get very close to him. She thought to herself, “If I could just touch his clothes, I will be healed.” She did just that, and immediately the bleeding stopped.

Jesus, on the other hand, felt that virtue had gone out of his body, and immediately knew in himself, that someone had touched him. He asked, “Who touched my clothes?” His disciples were thinking that he must be crazy, because there were so many people around him, and anyone could have just brushed against his clothes. But Jesus insisted that it was more than just a mere brushing of his garment by someone in the crowd. He sensed that someone had touched him with a “Touch of Faith.” So he looked around to see who did it. But the woman fearing and trembling, knowing that she had been healed, came and fell down at his feet, and told him the truth. He then said to her, “Daughter, thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace, and be whole of thy plague.”

A “Touch of Faith” can give you peace and heal you from your ailment today. It’s not over until God says it’s over. God sees you struggling with something today, and wants to tell you that faith can move the biggest mountain in your life, if you just trust and believe in him. He’s still in the miracle making business, and he’s still in the healing business. “For with God nothing shall be impossible.” (Luke 1:37)  Do not let your fear overcome your faith. Chose which direction you want to go today. Your life depends on the direction you take.

Why Worry?

Worrying Quote

Take therefore no thought for tomorrow: for tomorrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof. (Matthew 6:34) KJV

The Coin

coin
To: You
A man owned a coin.
The man held onto the coin.
Throughout the man’s life, the coin remained nestled in the corner of his pocket.  Although the coin became dirty, encrusted with lint and nearly rubbed smooth, the man kept it with him.
Should he ever need the coin, it was there.
When the man died, the coin was put into the pocket of his burial clothes, and placed along with him into the ground.
The coin’s value was lost because it had never been spent.
There are words that like the man’s coin, you are holding onto should you ever need them.
Words of love, words of forgiveness, words of apology, words of appreciation, words of understanding.
Some day, perhaps this day, you will be buried along with those words and they will become worthless.
Share these words today and their value will multiply faster than other investment you can make.
